One of the rules I try to live my life by is:
“Small pieces, loosely joined” (Unix philosophy)
This week, @2heartoftheart tweeted this link:

leaving a very uncomfortable question in my head:
“how loose do I need to be?”
Too loose; there are insufficient paths for good ideas to find a receptive ear. Too tight, there is too much information for the attention available . There is an optimum network configuration to maximise information flow.
@Twitter is acting against the interest of its users when it encourages us to grow our network. Quality, not quantity. This applies just as much to sponsored tweets as to anything else on the Net.
